Posts - Bill - HR 1874 To amend the Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972 to establish a conclusive presumption that a State concurs to certain activities, and for other purposes.
house 03/05/2025 - 119th Congress
We are proposing to amend the Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972 to streamline approvals for certain significant activities, such as critical infrastructure projects and disaster recovery efforts, by establishing a conclusive presumption that States agree to these activities. Our goal is to expedite the processes for projects with substantial national or regional impacts, especially in areas with low income or high unemployment, while maintaining oversight through a review mechanism by the Secretary.

Looks like we're just paving the way for more unchecked federal overreach along our coasts.

Once again, Congress finds a way to meddle with state issues while claiming it's for 'economic impact.'

Conclusive presumption? Sounds more like conclusively ignoring state concerns on climate impacts.

Careful, this bill walks a fine line between cooperation and coercion.

Finally, a move that stops coastal states from stalling essential projects for national security!

Is it really a 'conclusive presumption' if nobody seems to conclusively agree on it?

Preempting state rights while claiming to bolster economy sounds like a classic bait and switch!
