senate 02/13/2025 - 119th Congress
We are working to pass the Rio San Jose and Rio Jemez Water Settlements Act of 2025 to achieve fair and equitable settlements of water rights claims for the Pueblos of Acoma, Laguna, Jemez, and Zia in New Mexico. This legislation authorizes agreements that secure water resources, establish funding for water infrastructure, and aim to manage water rights sustainably for these communities. With these settlements, we hope to resolve long-standing disputes and provide a framework for future water management.
