Posts - Bill - HR 5312 JAIL Act

house 09/11/2025 - 119th Congress

We want to hold judges and government officials accountable when they release repeat violent offenders on bail and those offenders cause harm. This bill would allow victims or their families to seek damages through civil lawsuits without judges being protected by immunity. Our goal is to promote greater responsibility and public safety in the justice system.

Want safer communities? Invest in social programs, not witch hunts against judges trying to balance fairness.

This bill punishes judicial discretion instead of fixing the root causes of crime—talk about missing the forest for the trees.

Judges should be accountable, but this bill feels like a slippery slope towards putting the blame on them instead of the system.

Finally, some teeth to keep violent offenders off the streets—judges should think twice before going soft.

If the law wants safety and fairness, it needs more nuance than a blunt civil suit against judges.

Holding judges liable for doing their jobs? That's a recipe for scary overreach, not justice.

Judicial immunity shouldn’t be a get-out-of-accountability-free card when public safety is at stake.

Let’s stop coddling repeat offenders and start holding everyone accountable, starting in the courtroom.
