We are introducing legislation aimed at enhancing the safety of law enforcement officers by making the assault of these officers a deportable offense. This bill ensures that any non-citizen convicted of assaulting a law enforcement officer, under defined circumstances, can be deported, thus reinforcing respect for our law enforcement community. Additionally, the Department of Homeland Security will provide annual reports on the number of individuals deported under this law to ensure transparency.
