house 06/04/2025 - 119th Congress

We are working to advance responsible offshore renewable energy development by streamlining permitting, protecting marine and Tribal resources, and establishing infrastructure to support reliable, zero-emission electricity from wind and other clean sources. This legislation also creates a fund to address impacts on affected communities and promotes domestic job growth through shipbuilding and apprenticeship programs.

Smart to balance renewable goals with fair stakeholder input, but will the costs justify the catch? Time will tell.

If offshore wind was such a gold mine, why’s Uncle Sam gotta bankroll shipyards and pay up for lost fishing gear?
