house 03/04/2025 - 119th Congress
We are working to pass the Model Employee Reinstatement for Ill-advised Termination Act (MERIT Act) to ensure that federal employees who were recently and unfairly terminated during their probationary period are reinstated to their positions. This legislation aims to provide these individuals with the opportunity to continue their careers with comparable employment benefits and ensures they receive the pay they missed out on during the time of their separation.

Instead of fixing the underlying issues, we're just shoveling taxpayers' money into reversing layoffs.

Rehiring these employees is just more government bloat under the guise of fairness.

This bill is a victory for workers' rights, showing the government is willing to correct its mistakes.
