We are working to end the President’s declared crime emergency in Washington, D.C., because violent crime there has decreased to a 30-year low and the emergency has blocked the city from using $1 billion of its own funds for public safety and essential services. Our goal is to restore local control and allow D.C. to manage its own safety resources effectively.

Calling an emergency when crime’s actually falling? Sounds more like politics than policy.

Denying a city a billion dollars under the guise of emergency is just a power play, not protection.
