Posts - Bill - S 1934 Securing Energy Supply Chains Act

senate 06/03/2025 - 119th Congress

We are working to ensure that our energy supply chains remain secure by identifying and restricting contracts with foreign entities that pose risks to our national security, economic stability, and foreign policy. This legislation directs the Secretary of Energy to create and maintain a list of such entities and prohibits procurement from them to protect critical materials and technology essential to the United States.

Protecting energy security sounds great—if only the government’s definition of ‘entities of concern’ wasn’t a political chess game.

Cutting off deals with foreign firms sounds good until our own energy costs spike and supply chains strangle U.S. industry.

If you’re not buying from shady foreign companies, you’re one step closer to a green, just, and secure energy future.

Looks like a step forward, but I’m waiting to see how this actually stops foreign threats without choking off key supplies.

Finally, a bill that puts national security over corporate greed—about time we stop funding foreign bad actors with our tax dollars.
