Posts - Bill - HR 5560 Statutes of Limitation for Child Sexual Abuse Reform Act

house 09/23/2025 - 119th Congress

We are working to change laws that limit the time survivors of child sexual abuse have to seek justice, so that more victims can hold their abusers accountable, no matter how long ago the abuse happened. This legislation incentivizes states to remove these time barriers and allows previously expired claims to be revived.

No more expiration dates on suffering—abusers shouldn't get a free pass just because of a clock.

Better lengthening the clock than turning a blind eye—this legislation balances fairness with justice.

When the system turns its back on survivors, it’s time Congress steps in and demands better.

While this bill helps survivors, we must watch for unintended consequences in legal chaos.

Protecting kids is vital, but we can’t rewrite history and ruin due process for all.

A complicated fix for a complex problem—let’s make sure this law protects victims without punishing the innocent.

If we toss out statutes of limitations, aren’t we just punishing people for crimes they can barely defend against?

Good intentions, but opening decades-old claims is a lawsuit bonanza waiting to happen.
