We're introducing the Social Security and Medicare Lock-Box Act to protect the surpluses in Social Security and Medicare by creating special accounts to hold these funds and suspending their investment in U.S. obligations until we're able to explore more diverse investment options. A new commission will study and recommend the best ways to invest these surpluses to ensure long-term stability and growth.
